Vietnam-Japan corrugated iron factory inaugurated in central city

VietNamNet - A Vietnam-Japan corrugated iron factory was put into operation in central Da Nang city's Hoa Khanh Industrial Zone on April 16 by the Central Shipbuilding Industry Company under the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin).

The VND 95.5 billion factory was designed to have two production lines, including a 35,000 tonne coloured corrugated iron line and a zinc-plated line with annual capacity of 30,000 tonnes.

Covering an area of 80,000 sq.m, the first coloured, rolled corrugated iron factory in the central region is expected to turn out 15,000 tonne per year in its first year and 35,000 tonne per annum in the following years, earning an annual revenue of VND 180 billion and creating jobs for some 100 local workers.

The company also broke ground for a shipping cable factory, which is expected to be completed after one-year construction. The 8,000 tonne factory, with a total investment of 201 billion VND, will mainly produce cables for shipping industry.
